This is a conversion Adeptus-B made a number of years ago for a Dark Heresy encounter.
It is primarily made from the back half of an Ork War Trakk and the cab of an Imperial Guard Sentinel.

Generic Aliens for Dark Heresy
I few years ago, I found these 'aliens' at Blizzard's website for $4. They are Zerglings from Star Craft. There were 9 of them in the pack as well as 9 Terran Marines. Not yet sure what I will do with the marines--But I have some ideas. The marines are quite large, about the height of a T'au Crisis Battlesuit, but bulkier.
The aliens came in three positions.

After trimming down the molded base, I glued them to oval 75x45mm MDF bases.
These were easy to paint up. After a base coat, I simply added 3 quick layers of dry-brushing.

40k Statue
Today we have a repurposing of a very old miniature--A Rogue Trader era Marneus Calgar, Ultramarine Commander.
At one point, I had attempted (and failed) to convert Calgar to an Assault Marine leader. This unfinished conversion left poor Calgar without a right leg, leaving me to convert him back to his original pose.
I have glued Marneus, his bolter rack, and his cloak/helmet stand onto a Coke bottle cap. Which was then glued to a 40mm base, and finally on a larger bottle cap. Three metal shields were affixed to the lower bottle cap at 9, 12, and 3 o'clock.
Here is a series of 360° shots. I wanted the to look like aged and petinated bronze on top of a stone pedestal. To get this effect, I used...
Statue and Bronze Elements:
Citadel Warplock Bronze
Citadel Agrax Earshshade
Valejo Brassy Brass
Citadel Agrax Earshshade
Citadel Seraphim Sepia
Citadel Nihilakh Oxide
Citadel Seraphim Sepia
Pedestal:
50/50 Citadel Adaddon Black/Citadel The Fanf
Citadel Nuln Oil
Citadel The Fang
Citadel Fenrisian Grey
Citadel Agrax Earshshade

400th Post: Retconning is a virtue
I'm a day tardy getting this post up, but i'm not opposed to post-dating! :P This an important milestone to recognize... 400 posts!!! What an achievement!
These last 8 years have been a journey. Real Life™ has kicked my butt a number of times over the last 14 years and I have had to back burner this blog. At the pace I try to maintain, I would have hit 400 posts in only 4 years. That said, I am very proud of this accomplishment. Heck, averaging 50 posts a year ain't bad.
But wait, there's more! I have a small showcase to share--A group of WHFB Wood Elves Glade Guard Winged Fey Forest Creatures, given to me by Lord Grimskull. Whew, what a mouthful.
I don't have a WHFB/AoS Wood Elves army but I figured they could see the battlefield as Dark Heresy alien creatures, Necromunda mutated animals, or even as a stand-in for a small flying creature in D&D. With that in mind, I chose blue-green colors on the figure and a complimentary neutral base color. The figures are based on 20mm MDF round bases.
Thanks for the journey. Hope to see you in 400 more posts!

Dark Heresy Vehicles Showcase
Earlier this month I posted an in progress update on some Rogue Trader era Space marine models titled, Dark Heresy Vehicles WIP. In this post I have the finished models.
This is the first version of the Space Marine bike. As mentioned in the previous post, this has been lightly converted with a new handlebar and saddlebags.
These three Imperial Jet Bikes were used by the Imperial Guard as well as the Space Marines in 1st edition Warhammer 40k. They were phased out around 2nd edition. I chose to paint them in a neutral color and in the same color with the plan to use them as the vehicles for a variety of unified groups--Such as local enforcers, or an organized gang.

Dark Heresy Vehicles WIP
This is a Rogue Trader era Space Marine bike. I lost the original handlebars so an Ork Mek was gracious enough to loan a pair, but I chose to make one out of an old IG tank smoke launcher. There are a set of metal and resin stowage from my bitz box added to the back of the bike.
A trio of Rogue Trader era Space Marine jet bikes. No modifications to the figures, but I did make the bike bases.

Xenos Jungle Terrain WIP
This is a continuation of the Fungus Among Us project I started in 2013, and is part of my Modular Terrain System™. Yeah, I know, I'm not very good at finishing projects. Four years later I'm still not done... but I have added more to the project. You can trust me when I say that I have made progress. Really.
The base component of these alien 'trees' are Lotus Pods Stems that I purchased at a local craft store. The seeds and stems have been removed. The pod glued to a Citadel Wood base. Then that is glued to a CD. I bought my first Airbrush with X-mas money earlier this year. This is the first project I airbrushed.
I'm also working on some aquarium plant scatter terrain. Not exclusively 'jungle' but still part of this project.

Dark Heresy Servitor Weapon Upgrades
Originally, I built a missile launcher and heavy bolter for these two servitors. You can see them in this post. Since then, I removed the weapons, added a magnet in the shoulder, and made the 2 new weapons below.
These weapons are now accurate to the current loadout for my Dark Heresy campaign.
I made the Heavy Stubber from an Ork heavy weapon and a Necromunda plastic Autogun. The grenade launcher was made from 2 different weapon halves from Wargames Factory Shock Trooper kit.

Dark Heresy Cadre of Acolytes mk 4
It has been over 5 years since the last showcase of my Dark Heresy group. The previous post can be found here. Quite a bit has changed since then with only one model making it through to this iteration. Most characters have a new version of their figure, plus we lost 2 players and gained another. We also added an NPC as well as a veritable zoo of servitors and familiars.
Here is the entire group. The PCs are on the lower level and their followers are on the upper level. The two servitors (top left) are sporting new(ish)ly converted guns that will appear in a future post. All figures painted by me unless otherwise noted.

222
2 Years, 2 Months and 2 Days (there is a song lyric in there somewhere I think). That is how long it has been since my last post. What an arduous and life changing time it has been for my family. Things have stabilized and I am hoping they continue to get better.
I am starting back up this blog as a barometer of things to come. Hopefully I can once again share my hobbies with the interwebs on a regular basis, even if it is only a self gratifying activity.
What better way to usher in the revival of my blog than a showcase of my Dark Heresy character Nicodemus. When last you saw him he had recently acquired a fancy bright red bird familiar called a blaze wing. In this post I had started the process of magnetizing the familiar to Nicodemus' base. Flash forward 2 years, the blaze wing is painted, and my character has a new friend... a Grynix. Both the Blaze Wing, Mortimer and the Grynix, Randolph are magnetized and can either be attached to individual bases, or to Nicodemus' base.
Now on with the pictures...

Familiar Friend
My Dark Heresy Character has a familiar!
At our last session, my character Nicodemus used a psychic power to bond with a small animal for the first time. He hasn't had the power very long (2-3 session), but if he didn't get something now, his only prospects for a long time would be slim to none.
Turns out, it couldn't have been a better choice! I hadn't yet decided what I wanted to get--A small rodent, a bird of prey, or something foreshadowing Nic's decent into the dark arts. After a bit of thinking while another player was taking actions, I had the idea of checking out a nearby pet store.
Now Nicodemus is a very flashy, sometimes temperamental, self important (and indulgent), usually-loyal-to-the-Emperor Inquisitorial agent. It popped in my head to ask about an exotic animal. It should be noted that our next mission is to take down a group of pirates. I could not contain myself with the irony having a parrot on my shoulder... Shiver my timbers! (sorry for the bad pun) I bought a Blaze Wing! It is a large luminous red parrot!
The next day, I trolled the interwebs to find a suitable figure. I found this 'little' guy for $2.12 from Reaper Miniatures.
For this quickie shot, I used poster tac to attach the tail feathers to the far side of the shield. I love this pose! So much so, I am going to make the parrot's base fit around/under my character's base so they can tactically move together or separately.
I may do a little green-stuff cyber-conversion with the intent to "upgrade" the bird in the future... In hind site, I should have bought two!

Dark Heresy Character Showcase - Psyker mk III (part 4)
I completely lost motivation to finish the last 5% of this figure... Its been almost a year since my last post!
Well, finally its done and the wait was worth it! The newest version of my Dark Heresy character is complete.
Besides adding all the finishing details, I made a significant change since my last post:
I pulled off the two pistol holsters and re-applied them a little farther apart. Then I relocated the Inquisitorial Icon from hanging off the back of the belt to hanging off the chain on his chest. Finally, I added a rolled up scroll under the back pack.
There is not much else to say that I haven't mentioned in Part 1, Part 2, or Part 3. Now all that is left to round out our cadre is to finish is the feral Scum.
You can check out the entire cadre of acolytes in each of its iterations here:

Dark Heresy Character Showcase – Adept
A much delayed and forgotten post.
This model was originaly an Imperial Guard/Astra Militarum, Master of Ordinance, Regimental Adviser. He is now operating as our Dark Heresy's Adept (for the non-40K player, he is a scholar within the military bureaucracy).
There was no conversion work on this mini. Although I did swap the comms pack for a couple belt pouches and grenade.
All the "hard" armor has been hit with a gloss varnish after the entire model was sprayed with a matte coat. The deck plating base was made with strips of plasticard.
Obligatory 360° views. I Almost forgot to mention... the "grease" spot on the base is salsa--A little food collateral damage!
I experimented with exposure settings on my camera. While the colors are spot on, unfortunately the images are very grainy. Hopefully, I will get it right next time.
